General Information

The Mountain Kingdom is a kingdom that is mostly covered by mountains and is currently ruled by Hektos. The tallest mountain in the kingdom (and in all of Afersis) is Mt. Lavi. The Mountain Kingdom borders Earthsandia to the west and the Snow Kingdom as well as the Water Kingdom to the east. The Kingdom has a lot of open and unused space partially due to its rough terrain and the high quantity of monsters roaming the kingdom. Stone Golems are notorious for attacking anyone they come across and they can be found all over the kingdom, but especially near the central region. Because of this, there has gradually become a divide between the north and south sides of the kingdom. The majority of the population are dwarfs who live in the capital (The Hall of The Mountain King) underground on the north side. On the south side, most humans live and it's there where most of the trading with the neighboring kingdoms is made. The living standards and work ethic are controlled heavily by the government and the government only cares about the capital and what gives the kingdom income. Inside the capital, everyone works together under the rule of the current king and all share the winnings, one could describe it as communism. If you work together with us we all ensure each other's safety, which shows, due to The Hall of The Mountain King being one of, if not the most, guarded and secure places in the entire world. Not once throughout history has its walls been breached. But outside the capital, the government doesn't care about or give protection to anyone, being exiled from the capital is seen as a punishment on par with that of death. The national dish is a reflection of the strong work ethic being the simple dried meat with potatoes, which was the food everyone in the capital was awarded for a good day of work. Aside from the capital most of the exits and entrances to the mountain kingdom are also heavily guarded and leaving the kingdom can sometimes be very treacherous, something which Confiere found out during Session 14. This is thanks to the very strong military of The Mountain Kingdom which also stems from the strong work ethic within the kingdom.

History

The history of The Mountain Kingdom can be divided into four major parts: Donstropian Rule, Moktaus Rule, The 300-year War, and The Separation Period

Donstropian Rule

Donstropians were the first to control The Mountain Kingdom as with all other Kingdoms. In the beginning (50,000 B.C. to 10,000 B.C.), it was mostly filled with Rockdrakes and other flightless dragons who were seen as lesser Donstropians. These were eventually controlled and pushed away by the Dwarfs as they began taking over the area. Other Donstropians didn't care much for these "lesser" dragons and did not intervene. The dragons were pushed back and banished to The Chasm of Afersis where many fought over dominance over each other whilst trying to find their way out. All the carnage and blood, from these endless battles, would eventually simmer down to the very bottom where it would pool up, mixing with the rocks and crystals to form the first ever Remembrance: The Mountain Remembrance. One day a Rockdrake by the name Gurun would find this Remembrance and use it to create the walls around the then-established mountain kingdom, or as it was called then: Gurun's Prominence. This makes The Mountain Kingdom the first ever kingdom since its walls were the first. The dwarfs once again hid in the mountains as the "lesser" dragons made their way out of The Chasm with their newfound strength under the united rule of Gurun. The rest of the Donstropians didn't take lightly this advance and united to take down Gurun (910-900 B.C.). The battle was not long but when it came to what should be done about The Mountain Remembrance, things got complicated. A lot of factions had formed since the Gods Moneru and Suneru had "abandoned" the Donstropians and many wanted independence. After this Afersis was divided into The Districts Act, wich were created with the Mountain Remembrance and "The Mountain District" was one of them.

Trivia

Confiere in Afersis Act 3 by chance took a very similar path to that of Cal in Afersis Act 1. Both skipping The Hall of The Mountain King and heading straight for Mt.Lavi an then exiting through Snow Kingdom.
