History and Life

Early Life: 10 A.C. to 30 A.C.

Mova is the "eternal" queen of Snow Kingdom and was the last born human daughter of Fonos and Kalidora in the year 10 A.C. She was the youngest child of Fonos to become a ruler of a kingdom only at the age of 12 yet despite this fact her kingdom, The Snow Kingdom came to prosper greatly. With help from The Three Royal Knights in particular Hermaforius, Mova was able to construct a stable society in the otherwise dangerous habitat of the frozen lands. Establishing the Iced Shore Trading Post as well as The Arch of Mova in her early years and taking a defensive stance in WW1 meant the kingdom she had built would benefit from the downfall of its neighbours, specializing in trade and transportation, a pattern which continued into the modern day. Hermaforius was integral to this process, helping and advising Mova while defending her kingdom; seemingly, he had taken a liking to her. All throughout her childhood and early adolescence, Mova received a lot of praise; none of her siblings disliked her, which is quite remarkable since there was a lot of infighting between most of them. These reinforcements made the otherwise timid and reserved Mova grow into an overconfident and proud person. It was known throughout Afersis that, despite her young age, she was just as strong as the rest of her siblings. This praise was not unwarranted since Mova had great talent for elemental Magic, reportedly being an Expert Elementalist‏ by the age of 15. When Mova turned 17, her father died, officially leaving the kingdom in her hands, where it would lie for a long time.

Middle and Late Life: 30 A.C. to 100 A.C.

However, everything must come to an end at some point. As Mova grew older, her confidence began to falter as her strength weakened. When it came to giving up her throne, she refused. She did not have a child until she was practically forced by Hermaforius, who told her the people needed a new ruler after she was gone. Eventually, she'd have her child, Glazia, in 65 A.C. at the age of 55. Glazia was not unlike her mother, also showing great talent, perhaps even more so than her mother, officially becoming an Expert Elementalist by the age of 14. In all regards, Glazia was a perfect heir to Mova, which is what infuriated her. Mova had no love for her daughter, only envy. When she saw Glazia, she was only reminded of what she used to be. As more and more leaders of the other kingdoms stepped down, Mova's time drew closer, and the official coronation ‏of Glazia was set to be when she turned 35. Originally, the age for coronation was at the age of 25, but Mova had it pushed back several times due to "Glazia not being ready yet". Mova was growing desperate and decided she'd find some other way; she was not going to let go of the kingdom she had so meticulously crafted. It belonged to her; it would belong to her forever.

Mova spent all of her waking hours and resources researching a way to prolong her life. The fact of her being a daughter of Fonos meant she had access to even the most restricted information. This led her down the rabbithole of The Donstropians and Dragons. She researched their people and the dragon race. How did they come to live for as long as they did? Mova found out about many of the old structures they left behind, such as The Old Stratus Temple and The Ancient Pyramids, setting out to visit them under the guise of political meetings with the other leaders of those kingdoms. During these travels, she would eventually find out about The Remembrances and the fact that there was a structure residing in her own kingdom: The Ancient Laboratory. Setting out to explore this place, she met the secluded ice-draconics still living there and their leader, Frozo Firitu, and his son, Yehura Firitu. In their possession was The Snow Remembrance, it was what was keeping Frozo Firitu alive. He was a descendant of Mowonai, the enemy of Fonos. Mova stole the remembrance and murdered Frozo, Yehura, and the rest were allowed to live in exchange for conducting more studies, now in Mova's name. The draconics despised the fact that they'd be working under a human, but their strength did not match Mova's; they had little to no choice. They helped her understand how the remembranced worked and how to channel it, but the information on how to use it to become a god was not conveyed. The draconics would rather die than have a human find out about this fact, even if they sensed she wasn't worthy and the remembrance would not choose her; they did not dare take that risk.

With this newfound power, Mova arranged a sinister plan. She set up a caving expedition with her daughter as a "coming of age" ceremony the day before her coronation. It involved the two of them traveling up north to the mountainous region of the kingdom. There they'd come in contact with the group of draconics again, and Mova would tell her daughter the true reason for them being there. After the ceremony was done, only one person would return from the mountains. Glazia alone stood before the coronation committee, her mother missing. Mova had supposedly died in a "freak accident" when they were in the cave due to it collapsing. A mix of feelings spread across the kingdom as their previous ruler had tragically died, but it was bittersweet since her daughter would take on the mantle to rule the kingdom. That's how it was written in the history books and how most people remember it to this day; however, the truth is that Mova did not die. She absorbed Glazia's life energy and took over her life. The Snow Remembrance practically gave her immortality in exchange for sacrificing one life each day. The first would be her one and only daughter.

Eternal Life: 100 A.C. to 853+ A.C.

Mova continued to use this power throughout the history of Afersis. Each time "it was time," she'd once more fake her own death and continue ruling as a descendant. She never had another daughter; lookalikes were purposely chosen by her so she could more easily keep up this centuries-long charade. There were many times when people started questioning her, but anytime she was opposed, strangely, people started to disappear. In tandem with this, Snowman People would show up. To the public, these were magical constructs made to protect the kingdom; in reality, they were victims frozen and drained of life. Unable to move and some unable to speak, most would lose their minds after being stuck in that form for a little less than a year. However, in the year 200 Aferlo, the then ruler of the Mountain Kingdom would confront Mova during the Decidal Meeting. He had figured out her secret, and he was in a similar predicament to hers. He was growing older and did not want to let go of his kingdom, his power. His pleas would go unheard by Mova; at this point, she saw herself as above everyone else. These were all descendants of Fonos, yet she, she was his born daughter, she was pure unlike them. She denied the fact and claimed to be oblivious to his fantasies.

As Alfero grew more desperate, he would launch an attack on the snow kingdom in the Snowfall War in 204 A.C. Despite their strength, the snow kingdom stood no chance against the armies of dwarves from The Hall of The Mountain King. Cornered Mova would never reveal the truth to Alfero; she lent him part of her power to make him live longer and thus marking the end of the war in 207 A.C. However, Alfero wasn't very tactful with his use of the power; he never gave any explanation for his living as long as he did, and to this day, it's a great mystery in many of the history books for the mountain kingdom. The loss to Alfero hit Mova hard. How could someone like him receive such power? He was not worthy of it. Mova would slowly, unbeknownst to Alfero, stop supplying him with life energy. The effect was gradual, and in 312 A.C. Alfero would suddenly wither away in his sleep. Only dust was left, and no corpse. His death made even more eyes turn, and it wouldn't be long before it became a common theory amongst the other rulers of the kingdoms that Mova was still alive. This was purely conspiratorial in the beginning, but as each ruler of the snow kingdom turned out to be another female increasingly similar to the previous one, suspicions would grow. Despite this, no other attempts like that one of Alfero were made. It was mostly out of fear but also due to the fact that many kingdoms were dependent on snow kingdom's trade and travel, and upsetting its leader was a sure way to ruin your own kingdom. It was only during the decadal meeting in 853 that Ban would officially call her out on the fact.

After the events of Afersis Act 3, Mova would not assimilate with the other kingdoms, no matter how many tries were made. Snow Kingdom would become isolated, and she would continue to rule it in solitude, sacrificing her people to stay alive. But with time, more and more people would flee from the land, and fewer would be loyal to her. Within a few years, Mova would pass away due to sacrificing the last of her servants and thus having no one but herself left. She had killed herself and her kingdom. The perpetual cycle that had gone on for over 800 years was finally over.
